ANNUAL INSPECTION OF PLOTS These have now been carried out. As we now have a waiting list for allotments, anyone not maintaining theirs will be written to asking if they wish to continue. If someone is ill or has a good reason why they are not maintaining their allotment then they are requested to please let the Town Council office (contact details here) know as soon as possible.
OPEN DAY The Open Day this year was the 12th August 2006, just before National Allotments Week.
SCARECROW COMPETITION This was held again at the Open Day this year.
ALLOTMENT CHEESE AND WINE SOCIAL *photos* This took place on Saturday July 29th 2006, and was a resounding success! There are some photographs here. If anyone has any photos of the event that they´d be happy to see on the site, please contact a member of the Allotments Group and they will pass them on to the webmistress.
WATERING Watering - please try not to use hoses if you can, and be responsible in your watering. Under the Tenancy Agreement, you are not allowed to water plots directly with a hose under any circumstances, and it would be a good example if you didn´t use them at all. See The Grower 18 for more.
BEST KEPT ALLOTMENT COMPETITION First judging took place on 5th June 2006, and second on July 31st 2006. The winners were announced at the AGM: Mrs Loraine Faulkner – Cameron Road Mr John Stephenson – Bellingdon Road
ALLOTMENT GROUP AGM This was on 28th September 2006 at the Town Hall.
ALLOTMENT GROUP MEETING Last meeting was on 23rd October 2006.
CHESHAM IN BLOOM The RHS Britain in Bloom judges carried out the judging on 12th July 2006. We Received Silver.
